3.3.2 Abstraction layers

Details about this feature can be found in the main Genome Compiler user guide:

See section 1.2.4 for Project Views.

  • The abstraction layers in ApE can be switched between the Linear or the Circular view by first clicking the “Circular”/"Linear" button at the top right (Figure 3.3.2.1) and then choosing the "Graphic Map" icon in the main tool bar (Figure 3.3.2.2) or through the main menu by choosing "Enzymes"-"Graphic Map" (Figure 3.3.2.3). This will open a new window displaying the Circular/Linear graphic maps. The sequence is displayed in the main window.

  • In Genome Compiler you may choose the “Single project view” on the top right (Figure 3.3.2.4) which will display the DNA/AA/DNA&AA sequence to the left of the screen alongside the Linear/Circular view which can be switched by clicking the appropriate tab (Figure 3.3.2.5). Alternatively you may choose the “Dual project view” on the top right (Figure 3.3.2.6) which will display two projects in adjacent views, each enabling switching between the three abstraction layers by clicking the appropriate tab (Sequence (DNA/AA/DNA&AA)/Linear/Circular) (Figure 3.3.2.7).
